SACHKHERE STADIUM RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT

In support of regional development and sports promotion, Megawatt is actively implementing infrastructure projects that open new opportunities for local communities.

Developing and modernizing sports infrastructure is one of our company’s key priorities — especially in the regions, where each new project brings renewed energy to the city and unlocks its growth potential.

The main goal of the Sachkhere Municipality project is to renovate the existing stadium and bring it in line with international standards. The project includes the assessment of the existing infrastructure, the design of reconstruction in accordance with UEFA Category II requirements, and the preparation of comprehensive project documentation. This will serve as a solid foundation for future construction works and for hosting high-level sports events.

The new stadium will enable Sachkhere to host not only football matches but also youth programs and various sports activities. As a result, the project will promote a healthy lifestyle, stimulate the local economy, and strengthen the city’s position on the international sports map.

The current condition of the stadium clearly indicates the need for complete demolition.

The new concept has been developed within a carefully planned budget — up to 5 million GEL, ensuring efficient implementation without significant cost overruns.

Geographically, the project site is in a highly convenient location: 173 km from Tbilisi, 227 km from Batumi, and just 88 km from Kutaisi — making the stadium easily accessible for both local and international visitors.

According to the new design, the stadium will have a capacity of 2,840 spectators, including 50 VIP seats, a lounge area, media center, commentary booths, and office spaces. Two main stands will be located on the eastern and western sides of the field, divided into sectors to ensure efficient flow of visitors.

The southern side will feature a central entrance equipped with turnstiles and a ticket office, while fans of the visiting team will use a separate northern entrance.

The eastern stand will include all necessary functional zones: players’ and coaches’ changing rooms, referees’ rooms, a conference hall, delegates’ and match observer offices, a medical unit, and a doping control room — with direct access to the pitch.
The western stand will house hygiene facilities, security and control rooms, two staircases, and two elevators.

Behind the western stand, a commercial area will be developed — featuring pavilions, kiosks, food outlets, and relaxation zones for spectators. This will transform the arena into a multifunctional complex and significantly enhance its commercial potential.
